The Administration and Finance Department Responsible for the direction and management of Finance & Administration Services of MOH and for ensuring the provision of systems and services for all administrative functions as well as ensuring the supervision of Heads of Sections of the department, including Procurement & Logistics, Budgeting, Finance & Accounting, and ICT.

The Director of Administration and Finance is the top functional head of the Department, He is responsible for the overall technical, administrative and financial management of the department.

The department actively contributes to the overall management of the MOH by providing guidance and direction in the development and implementation of strategies in support of the MOH mandate and strategic objectives.

In addition, the department manages to fulfill all the sections activities by following the relevant legislation and guidelines possessed by the Ministry. Some of the fulfilled deliverables managed by the department are include:

  • Ensuring adequate provision of administrative and financial support to all departments of the Ministry.
  • Coordinating the implementation of financial management, procurement activities and ICT system approach.
  • Coordinating the preparation of MoH’s annual financial budgets and plans as well as monitoring their executions and implementations.
  • Supervising the installation and implementation of appropriate financial management and internal control systems in order to minimize risks and fraud crimes.
  • Overseeing and controlling the procurement activities and contract management functions of the Ministry.
  • Supervising and managing the financial accounting system to ensure all different financial transactions are recorded properly as per aligned with the Ministry’s Bank Statement.
  • Overseeing annual financial audits and providing timely and adequate management responses to the audit queries.
  • Preparation of annual department progress reports
